JH Coates Gallery is located in the town of Miami, Arizona, high in the Pinal mountains of Gila county. It opened 15 years ago, 2005, and has operated at the same location, 418 Sullivan Street, during this time (it was previously known as Copper Mine Picture Cafe). The owner, Jim, an artist and collector, who is a native of Arizona, opened the gallery and a companion cafe, Studio Cafe, after teaching 20 years in NewYork. In addition to Jim’s work, the gallery offers a wide variety contemporary southwest art.
